HORSE RIDING NEWS - Tristan Hope (15) recently produced an outstanding performance at the Waterlea Endurance Ride competition.
Riding his horse Mahdeeva, who had already accomplished all her novice stages, Tristan took on the challenge of his inaugural competitive 80km ride.
He clinched the top spot in the young riders category and secured second place overall, completing the endurance ride in an impressive time of 4 hours, 15 minutes and 21 seconds.
Furthermore, Tristan was honoured with the Photographers Choice Award, a testament to his remarkable progress and unwavering dedication over the past year.
Hope embarked on his Endurance Riding journey in August last year, swiftly progressing to represent the Eastern Cape Young Rider u.18 team at the prestigious South African International Competition.
He also participated in the gruelling 206km race at Fauresmith in July, achieving a commendable completion time of 11 hours and 17 minutes and maintaining an average speed of 18,7km/h.
His performance placed him 23rd among the 69 young riders who set out on the race. It is remarkable that this promising young talent only began competing in endurance racing in August last year.
