GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club held its Presidents'/Vice-Presidents' Day to mark the end of the bowling year.
This fun afternoon was followed by the club's annual prizegiving where shields, cups and merit awards were handed out to its top achievers.
One of the highlights was the match played between the u. 60s, playing for President Niel Cloyn, against the over 60s, playing for Vice-President Piet Nel. Naturally the u.60s "klapped" the over 60s but fun was had by all.
René Oosthuizen received the Marley Hayward Cup for being the person who did the most for the club during the past year as a non-committee and non-member.
René is the wife of Oosie Oosthuizen, the club's competent caterer and greenkeeper, who was awarded the President's Cup for the person who did the most for the club this past year.
Shawn West and Charlene Colyn were jointly awarded the Victor and Victrix Ludorum Cup, both of them having won the same number of club competitions during the past year and both ending up with the same scores overall for competitions.
