GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Sixteen bowlers entered the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club's Mixed Pairs competition that was played last weekend, October 7 and 8.
At the end of play on Saturday, there were three unbeaten sides, namely Niel and Charlene Colyn and Priscilla Kasperski and Shawn West in Section 1, while Fanie van der Merwe and Riana du Toit were the leaders in Section 2.
The Colyn duo had to square up against the Kasperski/West combination on Sunday and recorded a convincing win to qualify for the final. The Van der Merwe/du Toit couple kept their slate clean to book their place in the final.
In a closely contested game, Niel and Charlene Colyn claimed the silverware with a 23 - 17 victory.
