GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The final for the netball tournament, consisting of six female teams and one male team, was held in Graaff-Reinet last Sunday.
The teams competed each Sunday for seven weeks.
Shanon Maarman organised the tournament. The Central Netball Team won the tournament and played against uMasizakhe Netball Club. The score was 17 - 3.
Teams from Kroonvale, Asherville and uMasiakhe competed in this tournament. Each team donated R100 to the pool for the league games and the pool money was used as the prize money for the winning team.
All six female teams had the opportunity to play against each other as well as the male team. Prizes were also awarded to the best players every week.
The results for the best players are:
- Player of the league: Carlin Jansen
- Defender/s of the league: Joslin Adams and Augustine Japtha
- Male player of the league: Bulelani Fepiwe
- Shooter of the league: Kristen Minnaar
- Center quart player: Dudley-Ann McCarthy
- Attacking player of the league: Verna Isaacs
- Defensive Attacking player: Asuvela Putuma
- Coach of the league: Charlotte Mackalina
- Umpire of the league: Sharon McCarthy
