SPORT NEWS - Last weekend, the Central Karoo League games took centre stage in Murraysburg, with Murraysburg Primary School the standout performers.
The home team notched impressive victories in both netball and rugby, bringing joy to their excited supporters.
A triumph for Murraysburg Primary The Murraysburg Primary School community was buzzing with enthusiasm as they hosted the Central Karoo League games.
The young learners had their sights set on overcoming St Matthews School in a friendly yet spirited competition. Kirsten Brouers, a Grade 7 netball player, was confident of her team's abilities.
Multi-sport showdown
The day saw thrilling matches in three different sports: netball, rugby and soccer. Murraysburg Primary emerged victorious in netball and rugby, while St Matthews Primary secured a win in soccer.
Results
- In the netball games, Murraysburg Primary beat St Matthews with scores of 15-8 in the u.12 category and a closely fought 16-15 victory in the u.13 category.
- Rugby also brought moments of excitement, with Murraysburg's u.9 team ending in a draw, finishing at 10-10. The u.11 Murraysburg rugby squad, however, secured a decisive victory with a score of 32-5 against St Matthews.
- In soccer, St Matthews Primary outperformed their rivals, winning the u.13 match with a score of 2-0 and the u.14 match with an impressive 5-0 scoreline.
