GRAAFF-REINET BOWLS NEWS - The winners of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club's Mixed Pairs of this past weekend, 27 and 28 March, were Sonja and Deon Matthee. Club President Niel Colyn, and his wife Charlene, were the runners-up.
The competition was held over two days, and the 12 mixed pairs teams who entered were divided into two sections of six teams each.
The Matthees and the Colyns won all five of their games in their respective sections, so the competition between these two teams who played against each other on Sunday afternoon in the final, was very close, with both teams holding on right to the end. The Matthees emerged as winners with a score of 13-11.
Congratulations, to both the winners and the runners-up. What a joy to watch such outstanding bowling!
The next event on the Graaff-Reinet bowling calendar will be the Midlands Mixed Pairs competition on the Graaff-Reinet bowling greens over the weekend of 10 and 11 April.
