GRAAFF-REINET SPORT NEWS - Warm weather couldn't keep bowlers away from the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club last weekend, where the open singles was played from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 25 October.
Eleven men competed in the men's division, which was divided into three sections.
The four best players out of the three sections advanced to the semi-finals, where Peter van den Berg played against Ivor Wakeford, and Wally Koetaan played against Niel Colyn.
Ultimately, the final was between Wakeford and Koetaan.
This was not the first final face-off for the men, who played against each other in the men's senior singles final earlier this year.
There, Koetaan was crowned the champion, but this time it was Wakeford's turn to take the top spot.

The Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club will host the Personal Trust Open Day this coming Saturday, 31 October, welcoming 32 teams to this pairs competition. Players from surrounding towns, as well as Port Elizabeth, Colesberg, Victoria West and Uitenhage will compete on the day.
