GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Last weekend saw the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club host 16 teams in the Eastern Province Pairs Final.

Teams from Frontier, Eastern Areas, Port Elizabeth and Midlands bowling clubs competed in chilly weather for a shot at the title.
Ultimately, after three 21-end games, it was pair Roger Wilson and Mike Hanson from Westview who won in men's A-section with -5 game points and + 29 shots. Karen Korkie and Dalena Muller from The Woods won in the ladies' section, with their - 6 and + 41.
Lourenza van der Merwe and Sandy Smart from Western Suburbs won in the ladies' B-section, with Willie Killian and Allan Paris from Walmer first in the men's B-section.
The two finals saw bowls of high quality. In the end, Walmer duo Killian and Paris claimed the men's title with a 23 - 14 victory. The ladies' title went to pair Van der Merwe and Smart, thanks to their convincing win of 29 - 13.
Midlands bowls couple Helen Louw and Marieda Scherman finished third, to claim bronze.
Participants thanked the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club for their Karoo hospitality, which was once again a winner.
