KAROO NEWS - A whopping 69 athletes and walkers turned up for the 90th Mountain Drive parkrun on a beautiful warm Karoo morning on Saturday.
There were a lot of new faces as well as the regulars.
The first runner in was Matthew Kingwill at just 22:27 - along with dad, Alastair and first lady Hester Kingwill at 25:17.
Claudine Smiles completed her 50th parkrun.
Atheltes who achieved personal best times were Johan Minnaar (5), Michael Slater (7), Gerben Boersema (13), Carla de Jager (27), Marko Claassen (28), Gertrude Maoeng (35), Jan Coetzee (39) and Deidré Jaftha (53).
Joining the parkrun for the first time were Rindy and Minke Krige, Eleanor Nel, Jermaine Swarts, Daniel and Armand Nel.
And the volunteers in the trenches were Gerry van Rooyen (scanner), Shirley Spencer (timekeeper), Corleen van der Walt (photographer), Anneke Wieneke (tailwalker), Mike Carlitz (tokens), the two wonderful Cambeboo Rangers (midpoint) and Kim Spencer Primic (race director and results processing).
