GRAAFF-REINET GOLF NEWS - Thanks to much-needed rain, the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club's course is beginning to look green and lush again, and saw a good turn-out for the Better Ball competition on 11 January.
Colin Warner and Jaco Venter dove-tailed well and scored 47 points. In second place was Rowan George and Luther Jackson with 43 points, third was the father and son team of Johnny and Johndre Ludick with 41 points, on a count out to Hadley Fourie and Andre Marais, who came fourth.
The Wednesday IPS Competition, sponsored by Gold Rush was won by Jaco Venter (34 points), with Dave Luscombe (30 points) second and Andre Marais (28 points) third.
The Friday Sundowner is slowly beginning to start up again. This week, Juan-Louis du Plessis was the winner on 20 points, with Wally Gentry beating Noel Taylor-Freeme on a count-out, both with 18 points.
A meeting will be held on 18 January at 11am to discuss the sustainability of the club.
The committee encourages all members to attend, to ensure as much input as possible. This meeting will be followed by an IPS Competition, with tee-off from 1pm.
