GRAAFF-REINET GOLF NEWS — Jaco Venter has had a good week.
He won the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club's IPS competition on Saturday, 14 July, with 41 points and was the runner-up to André Olivier on Wednesday in the Gold Rush sponsored competition.
André scored 34 points and Jaco beat Mario Olivier in a count out with 33 points. The club is very grateful to Gold Rush for their continued support.
Many players braved the icy wind on Saturday with the last few four-balls also having to deal with a fine drizzle.
Charl du Plessis came second to Jaco Venter and Noel Taylor-Freeme third. Morné Hancox was a visitor from Port Elizabeth.
This Saturday, 21 July, the club will host a Bogey competition teeing-off at 11:30. The ladies can take the opportunity to enjoy some golf by either playing 9 holes from the front tees or play in the Hit & Giggle starting at 15:00.
The following Saturday, 28 July is Bokke Dag. This is a Better-ball competition and entries must be in by Friday, 27 July. Contact the Golf Club on 040 555 0036 to enter or to find out more.
