GRAAFF-REINET GOLF NEWS - The monthly Pick n Pay sponsored Medal competition, played on Saturday 1 June, was strongly contested with Jacque Wagener coming out tops on 70.
Five players scored 71 and on count-outs Juan-Louis du Plessis came second. Third was William Kendel, fourth - Eddie Nel, fifth - Willie Claassen and sixth Dan Yeadon.
Nick Steyn on 38 points won the Gold Rush IPS competition. Jaco Venter was second with 37 points and Andre Olivier third with 36 points.
The Sundowner competition played on Friday afternoon was won by Jacque Wagener (20 points), followed by Eddie Nel (19 points) and Bernie Weyer (16 points).
Dennis Hendriks beat Johndré Ludick in the Brisco Cup competition. This coming Saturday, 8 June, is the Better Ball competition. The club made a request to all regular players to try to include non-regular players when entering with a partner.
The Golf Club desperately wants to encourage an increase in the number of participants in competitions.
