GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Golfers of varying golfing ability gathered for a social game at the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club on Saturday 18 November.
Around 16:00, after the heat of the day had eased, 32 golfers reported for new a short-course new competition, the MTGP Sixers golf day. It was played over six very short holes that involved a lot of chipping and putting.
The format was an American Scramble, which is especially suited for beginners.
There was no pressure on newer players and they played their shots from the best position of the other three players in the group. It was loads of fun and a chance to get out in the fresh air at Graaff-Reinet Golf Club. Golfers who had not played for a while have vowed to get out more often.

"After the success of this day, we will surely have a follow-up event in the near future," says Derek Helm, a club committee member.
