GRAAFF-REINET GOLF NEWS - The prestigious Proudfoot Golf Tournament attracts players from all over the country. The proceeds enable the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club to maintain its position as one of the top nine-hole courses in South Africa.

The Proudfoot has been an annual event since 1997 and was started to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the late Douglas Proudfoot.

Proudfoot, a resident of Graaff-Reinet, won the S A Amateur title an incredible eight times in less than a decade - with no formal training.

This year's tournament will be held on 18, 19 and 20 March.

Most visitors who play in this tournament are bowled over by the excellent state of the course, the friendliness of the Graaff-Reinet people and the delicious, generous meals served.

There has been a fantastic response so far and the days are full, bar a few tee-off times. We encourage any golfers who have not yet entered to please contact the golf club. Don't miss out on this esteemed tournament with a whopping R20 000 worth of prizes.
