GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - On Sunday morning, 9 December, the Midland Open was contested on the Graaff-Reinet golf course.
A total of 45 players from throughout the Eastern Cape entered this highly competitive competition.
Dillon Germshuys (+3 handicap) from Walmer, Port Elizabeth, came out the winner followed by Hugo Maritz (0 handicap) and Wian van Aswegan (0 handicap) both from Humewood, Port Elizabeth.
Rowan George (8 handicap) from Graaff-Reinet was also among the winners.
The visitors were very impressed with the course and reception they received.
Charity day this weekend
This coming Saturday, 15 December, the club will host the Pick n Pay Charity Golf Day.
Golfers are encouraged to find a non-regular player for the Better-Ball competition. There are plenty a prizes for this special Christmas golfing competition.
The club should then come alive after the golf with the happy sounds of a marimba band.
The evening’s Christmas dinner, which is open to everyone, consists of a three-course meal. There will also be a chance to dance the night away with music supplied by a DJ.
The dinner costs R100 per person and R50 for children under 12. All money raised from the dinner will go to local charities.
