GRAAFF-REINET GOLF NEWS - The Sacred Heart Catholic Church once again hosted a great golf day on Saturday, 8 December, at the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club.
Those that stayed behind afterward were also treated to a delicious meal.
Although the field wasn't full, there were many more players than on a regular Saturday and the club's committee appreciates all the effort that the Church put in to make this a successful day.
A wonderful, happy atmosphere prevailed in the clubhouse both before tee-off as well as at the end of the day.
The prize table was laden with fantastic prizes and even those that weren't winners had a good chance of getting one of the lucky draws.
Rowan George (41 points) won the day's play, David Luscombe (38 points) came in second, Richard Swartz (38 points) third, Vlam Pretorius (37 points) fourth, Chris Koeberg (37 points) fifth and Archie Welman (37 points) sixth.
Yvonne Drummond followed by Bets Henning were the winners in the Ladies section.
Patrick Ludick was nearest to the pin on 4/13 and Rowan George was nearest to the pin on 6/15.
Clive Ludick hit the longest drive.
The 4-ball with the best-combined score was Patrick Ludick, Rowan George, Archie Welman and Richard Swartz with 153 points.
Godwin Bosch once again picked the lucky number in the raffle and walked away with a springbok and a bottle of Johnny Walker.
