GOLF NEWS - A church service for the late South African golf legend John Bland (77) will be held in George on Saturday 20 May. The service will be held at 10:00 at St Mark's Cathedral in York Street.
Bland passed away on Tuesday morning, 9 May in George after a short battle against cancer.
Bland, who lived in Fancourt, was born on 22 September 1945.
He turned to professional golf in 1969 and won more than 30 tournaments worldwide. Among his wins are two in the European tour, 19 in the Sunshine tour, one in the Challenge Tour, five PGA Tour champion wins and three European senior tour wins.
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
