GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — On Saturday afternoon the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club came alive with 43 lady golfers and non-golfers, between the ages of 15 and 79, invading the course.
Great fun was had as each player attempted to hit the tiny white stationary ball with an unfamiliar iron. Laughter could be heard echoing across the whole course. Most ladies played a minimum of 4 holes with some of the braver ones even playing the 9th hole over the water.
A prize-giving was held afterwards with some fun awards such as:- the most inappropriately dressed; the most fresh-airs; best hockey player and most entertaining golfer. There were also lucky draws. All these were kindly sponsored by Merino Pharmacy, Ken’s Radio, Heroldt Group, Mica, Midas, Wildman, Karoo Living, Brian Bands, Midland Drug Store and Lekker Bek.
Many of the ladies and their families stayed to enjoy a delicious steak braai while listening to music by Nick Steyn and Wendy Brussouw.
In an attempt to attract new lady members, this was a great success and most of the ladies promised to attend the next event which will take place on March 4.
