GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Wafa-Wafa Tournament played at Masizakhe Stadium last weekend was organised by the Masizakhe Masters Club.
Eight teams took part in the tournament, the Eleven Attackers, Masizakhe Academy, Portugal Birds, Destroyers, Future Stars ( Asherville), Manchester City, Fast Eleven (Middelburg) and the Black Arrows played from Saturday until Sunday afternoon.
The results were:
Saturday
- Portugal Birds played against the Destroyers and the game ended up in a draw.
- The Destroyers, a new team in the tournament field, beat Portugal Birds 5 - 3 in a penalty shootout to qualify for the semi-finals.
- Future Stars played against Fast Eleven of Middelburg and The Future Stars beat Fast Eleven 2 - 1.
- Masizakhe Academy played against Manchester City and Masizakhe Academy beat Manchester City 3 - 1.
- Black Arrows played against Eleven Attackers, Black Arrows defeated XI Attackers 4 - 1.
Semi-finals on Sunday at Masizakhe Stadium
- Masizakhe Academy played against Black Arrows and Masizakhe beat Black Arrows 2 - 1.
- Destroyers FC played against Future Stars FC. Destroyers FC won 3 - 1
The final game between Academy and Destroyers
- Academy won the Masters 2 - 1 and walked away with a prize of R5 000. The new team on the field took the second prize of R2 000.
