GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Camdeboo Football Academy faced off against Bush Bucks FC from Mthatha in a match of the ABC Motsepe League played at the Botanic Gardens on Saturday 25 November.
In a thrilling encounter, the Camdeboo Football Academy from Graaff-Reinet managed to break the deadlock, taking a commanding 2-0 lead against Bush Bucks. Goals by Mphuthumi Mthembu and Ricardwill Arries set the tone for the game.
The Academy began with fervor, scoring two goals in the first twenty minutes, keeping the Bush Bucks' goalkeeper busy and igniting excitement among the home supporters. The first half ended with the Academy in the lead 2-0.
The second half saw a determined resurgence from the Bucks, who launched strong attacks on the Academy. Within five minutes, they scored their first goal and in another five conceded another, levelling the playing field.
Twenty minutes later they had furthered their advantage with three goals, one by Awonke Majavu and two by Masixole Longo.
The relaxed Academy suddenly found themselves on the defensive, needing to elevate their performance. With minutes left on the clock, Bush Bucks was in the lead by three points.
However, at the 44th minute of the second half, Andile Njokweni managed to score a crucial goal, evening the score. Both teams were fiercely determined to secure the win, but ultimately the game ended in a 3-3 draw between Bush Bucks and the Camdeboo Football Academy FC.
The next match for the Camdeboo Football Academy is scheduled for 9 December in Bhizana against Sinenkani FC.
