GRAAFF-REINET FOOTBALL NEWS - The players of the Morocco Eagles Football Club recently took it upon themselves to clean up a litter strewn area in Koebergville, Graaff-Reinet next to the church.
The team cleared away a small mountain of rubbish at the spot where bins are placed by the municipality, but these sometimes overflow and some people also just toss their rubbish next to the bins even when there is space.
Unfortunately the municipality did not respond to calls for gloves and tools or to remove the gathered rubbish, and the club members had to resort to burning the junk inside the bins. The Community Work Programme supplied the club members with tools.
Morocco Eagles Football Club Coach, Eliston Lamond, says to achieve success, everyone, including the Morocco Eagles, must begin to do something themselves to effect change in the community.
He says if people work together, they can achieve a lot and that the club encourages the community to follow suit.
The Morocco Eagles Football Club wants to improve living conditions in the community.
