GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana midfielder Benedict 'Tso' Vilakazi recently visited Graaff-Reinet,
Tso. as he is affectionately known to his fans, came to town by invitation of Graaff Reinet born legal practitioner and philanthropist, Patric Sota, who is based in Johannesburg.
The former star's visit to the town coincided with the annual Easter soccer tournament hosted by the Dr Beyers Naude Municipality and the youth desk. On his arrival the former player immediately got down to work and conducted mini soccer clinics for local soccer team, Portugal Birds who were also participating in the tournament and were unfortunate to be knocked out at the quarter final stage.
On Saturday 20 April Vilakazi was involved in a corporate social investment (CSI) initiative by the management of Portugal Birds where they handed out food parcels and a mini medical kit to the elderly in Umasizakhe.
"The CSI event was held to give back to the community and also an attempt to introduce the reinvention of the Club Portugal Birds, which is an old club in this town," said co-organiser, Luvuyo Maloyi.
