FOOTBALL NEWS - The Lawaaikamp boys Black Cats lost the domestic league title on the last game when they played a goalless draw against Young Killers in a difficult Geolfa League game last weekend at the Lawaaikamp Stadium.
The Lawaaikamp team was top of the Geolfa League log for many weeks, but the tables were turned when they failed to score against Young Killers, and Vista FC ended up taking the title (see the article above).
Black Cats played 30 fixtures and ended in second position with 67 points, falling two points short of winning the Geolfa title.
Young Killers' goalkeeper, Aphelele Sobayeni, was the hero of the day after blocking three goal attempts by Black Cats.
Philile Laqhwesha and Esihle Qhekeka of Young Killers did a good job of defending at the back line, while their teammate Nkosekhaya Kwaza displayed classical football skills. .
Black Cats players Qhamani Nogqala and Simamkele Matroos struggled to penetrate Young Killers' solid defence, resulting in Black Cats having to settle for a draw.
