Badgers hammers Titans in T20 clash

CRICKET NEWS - The Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers women's team concluded back-to-back victories against the Fidelity Titans on Sunday 22 October when they recorded a 64-run victory in the T20 match at Supersport Park in Pretoria.

Jané Winster and her ladies were also victorious in the 50-over match that was played on Saturday.

The Protea stars of the Badgers, Tazmin Brits (82 from 40 balls; 3x6, 12x4) and Annerie Dercksen (74 from 41 balls; 1x6, 13x4), took control of proceedings when they posted a 91-run partnership for the second wicket to take the Badgers to a mammoth 184/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

Eliz-Mari Marx (3/38 in three overs) was the home side's best bowler.

The bowling attack by Badgers' Khaykaze Mathe (2/19), Jané Winster (2/22) and Haroline Rhodes (2/28) – who all bowled four overs – put the Titans under tight pressure as they were restricted to 118/8 after 20 overs.

For the Titans, Masabata Klaas with an unbeaten 62* (from 44 balls, 3x6, 5x4), fought a lonely battle against a disciplined Badgers outfit.
