Action-packed local cricket nears apex

GRAAFF-REINET CRICKET NEWS - The eight-a-side Indian Premier League-style Graaff-Reinet Business League is nearing its final stage.

The league is sponsored by Octofin Group of Companies in Graaff-Reinet. Five teams, MS Construction Barbarians, The Renault Dusters, The Wicked Bears, The Tyremart Duelers and The Toerboer Toerpedos entered.

The action started on Tuesday 1 October, with The Wicked Bears taking on the Toerpedos and Barbarians the same evening and winning both games.

With the last play-offs on 31 October, between Toerpedoes and Tyremart Duelers, and Renault Dusters and The Wicked Bears, Wicked Bears are the favourites according to the log on 22 October: Wicked Bears (12 points), Tyremart Duelers (8), Toerboer Toerpedos (8), Renault Dusters (4) and Barbarians (0)

On Tuesday 5 November, the leading team will take on the number four team, with the third and fourth-placed teams playing for a place in the finals on 8 November.

All games are played at Botanical Sports Grounds. Games start at 6pm.
