SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - South Western Districts will again host the Cape Cobras in a Sunfoil Cup four-day match this season. The Cobras will take on the Hollywood Bets Dolphins at the Recreation Ground from 5 to 8 October.
Cricket South Africa recently confirmed the Sunfoil four-day competition fixtures for the upcoming 2017/2018 season.
In January this year, SWD made history when they hosted their first franchise fixture when the Cobras and the Lions were involved in a thriller as the Cobras won the four-day match with twelve balls left on the final day.
Abertus Kennedy, chief executive officer of SWD Cricket, said: "The SWD administration will, however, be very keen to secure either a Momentum Cup one day match or a Twenty20 franchise match for the upcoming season. A match of that nature will be a real crowd puller at the recreation ground."
SWD will also, for the first time since 2006, host the Momentum u.13 National Week over the period 11-15 December 2017.
