GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Young Jarrod Gerber hit a personal best time, finishing Saturday's Mountain Drive parkrun in first place in a time of 27:03. The 10-year-old has been improving his time consistently and has now completed 22 registered parkruns at Mountain Drive.
A total of 56 parkrunners turned up for the 77th parkrun on a beautiful spring morning. Visitors from Port Elizabeth and Virginia in the Free State were also in action.
Kerry Pieterse was the first woman over the line in a fast time of 27:06 over the 5km distance.
Apart from Jarrod, Halyn Wessels (9), Sanet van Tonder (15), Irma van der Merwe (24), Carla de Jager (30) and Marcia Kalebewanza (43) achieved their personal best times.

And, as per usual, the regular volunteers were on their posts to make sure everything ran smoothly: Mike Calitz (tokens), Shirley Spencer (timekeeper), Anneke Wieneker (tail walker), Gerrie van Rooyen (timekeeper), Danie Jackson (scanner), Kim Spencer Primic (race director and data) and the two Sanparks rangers (midpoint marshals), Daphney Morowane and Dennis Marais.
