GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A warm Saturday morning saw 75 participants take on the Mountain Drive parkrun on Saturday. There were visitors from Hartebeespoort and even Canada.
Nine runner, joggers or walkers were first-timers, and 22 managed to record new personal bests.
Youngster Brendley Memanie, who participates in the category for 15 - 17-year-olds, was first with an excellent time of 18:50. This is a new personal best for Memanie. Eric Foendien was second with 20:24.
Tenita Nell was first in the women's category with 29:58. Second was Lucinda Prins with 30:56, a new personal best for her. This was Prins' fourth parkrun, and she competes in the age category for 11 - 14-year-olds.
The event was made possible by volunteers Peter Burdett, Mike Calitz, Lusan Luscombe, Charles Maasdorp, Tammy du Plessis, Daniel Goliath and Kim Spencer Primic. There was, once again, delicious rusks for these volunteers with the curtesy of baker Mixie Goedhals.
