GRAAFF-REINET NEWS – Local athlete Sipho November, a member of the Graaff-Reinet Running Club, represented the Eastern Cape province at the recent 2018 National SAPS Track and Field Championships in Pretoria.
The event saw police officials from all over South Africa participating.
November participated in the 5 000m, 800m, 1 500m and the 10km cross-country events claiming first place in all of them.
November completed the 5 000m in 14 minutes and 51 seconds, the 800m in 1 minute and 56 seconds, the 1 500 in 3 minutes and 57 seconds and the 10km race in 30 minutes and 41 seconds.
To add to November’s collection of gold medals, the team from the Eastern Cape also claimed first place overall in the cross-country event, earning November another medal.
November was recognised as the best performing athlete in the track and fields events earning a trophy in recognition thereof.
