ABERDEEN NEWS — Jadene Nyssen of Kamdebo Primary, one of the 11 athletes from the Aberdeen schools who travelled to the Sarah Baartman District Championships in Port Elizabeth recently, has been chosen to represent the District at the Provincial Championships in Cradock this coming weekend.
Jadene took first place in the Girls U.12 1200m race, receiving a gold medal for her efforts.
Fellow pupils Asha Swarts and Sakhiwe Meintjies, who competed in the U.13 age group, both came second in both the 100m and 200m races. According to the coaches, the event was very well organised, and all the athletes from the Aberdeen schools ran their hearts out and gave of their best.
