DA's Ewald Loock elected as new mayor

POLITICAL NEWS - Ewald Loock was elected as the munici-pality's new Mayor at the inaugural council meeting of the Dr Beyers Naude Local Municipality on Tuesday 23 November.

Laughton Hoffman (CSA) was elected as Speaker and Ricardo Smith (DA) was elected as chief whip.

This followed after a coalition agreement between the DA, FF+ and CSA was concluded shortly before the commencement of the meeting.

Daniel Bezuidenhout (DA), Riaan van Heerden (FF+) and Deon de Vos (ANC) will be representing the Dr Beyers Naude Local Municipality in the Sarah Baartman District Council.
