NATIONAL NEWS - Five fatalities have been reported in the Western Cape as a violent storm sweeps through the province.
The spokesperson for the local government, environmental affairs and development planning, James-Brent Styan, has confirmed five people were killed because of the inclement weather – four of them in a fire.
The four people were electrocuted on Wednesday morning when power lines collapsed onto their home.
A man was also killed when a home collapsed on him in Lavender Hill.
Styan said the city did all it could.
