GEORGE NEWS - The body of an unknown person was found at the Touw River mouth in Wilderness at about 09:00 Sunday 14 April.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the body washed out at the Wilderness lagoon near the N2.
The gender and identity of the body could not yet be confirmed by police as decomposition is at an advanced stage.
"Police were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival they found a decomposed body. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established," said Spies.
An inquest docket was opened for further police investigation.
