STEYNSBURG NEWS - During the month of love, six elderly individuals received a special surprise at the Marais Steyn Home for the Aged in Steynsburg. The Gift of the Givers organisation, in collaboration with the Department of Social Development in Steynsburg, donated wheelchairs to the home, bringing comfort and mobility to those in need. Karin Kaltenbrunn, the manager of the home, played a pivotal role in facilitating this donation.
Her dedication and persistence in liaising with the department over several months ensured that this much-needed assistance reached the residents. Kaltenbrunn expressed her gratitude towards the social workers of the department, acknowledging their extraordinary efforts in transporting the wheelchairs to Steynsburg.
Additionally, Nurse Desi Anderson of the Marais Steyn Home contributed to the cause by making numerous trips with her own car to collect the chairs from Social Development and deliver them to the home. The generosity of Gift of the Givers, coupled with the dedication of individuals like Kaltenbrunn and Anderson, has made a significant difference in the lives of the elderly residents at the Marais Steyn Home for the Aged and brought them joy and comfort.
