GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Union Schools in Graaff-Reinet's junior rugby teams took to the field on 8 May, and played a spirited set of home fixtures against Karel Theron Primêre Skool from neighbouring Middelburg.
It was a proud day for these young boys, with the u.7A team securing a confident 15-0 victory, while the u.7B side gave it their all in a tough 5-20 contest.
Both these games were played in a confident spirit, and good sportsmanship prevailed throughout.
The u.9A team impressed with a solid 19-10 win and the u.11A boys showed great determination to edge out their opponents 15-10.
Rounding off the afternoon with flair, the u.13A team delivered a dominant and very strong performance, triumphing 52-7.
The excitement and spirit of all these young players were a joy to experience, and Union Schools are confident that these teams have a great future ahead of them.
Union Schools also commended the effort, teamwork and sportsmanship of their opponents from Karel Theron Primary School, as well as their own Union teams.
