NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS — The ‘Step up Stationery Project’ brought a heap of joy to learners at the Lettie de Klerk School in Nieu-Bethesda on Friday, 8 February, when they donated over 30 stationery packs to the school's Grade 7 learners.
Over the year, the project has raised over R3 000 to provide the whole grade with grade-appropriate stationery, including much-needed maths sets and calculators.
The ‘Step up’ campaign with ‘GlobalGiving’ goes live again appealing for donations from 10 March. Their aim then is to provide the Grade 5s and 6s with age-appropriate packs and keep going until all 287 learners at the school are provided with the equipment to add to their education.
Principal, Barbara Vaaltyn is grateful to Nicola Wicks and Jackie Mills who were the force behind providing this educational gift to Nieu-Bethesda’s needy children.
Thirty stationery sets and their grateful recipients.
