GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality wants to notify all residents and road-users that a section of a lane in Church Street, is closed and cordoned-off due to a sewerage spillage at one of the main lines.
The Municipality is in contact with the South African Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) to seek permission to excavate on the road and prepare for the closure of such excavation, in line with the standards of SANRAL.
Without such prior permission, the municipality may not do such excavations. This is part of National Road and not a municipal road and is under SANRAL’s competency.
The municipality will continue to pursue to get the required permission and residents will be updated on the status of all actions.
Due to external permission not granted, no timeframe commitment can be made. The municipality apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
