GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) paid a visit to Graaff-Reinet on Monday, where they were happy to gather 41 units of blood.
Donors braved the cold to head out to Te Watersaal on Bourke Street, where the blood drive took place.
"It is important to donate blood to help save people's lives," said Tracy Petitt of Graaff-Reinet, who was donating blood for the 5th time. At the station next to her was regular donor Riaan Pieterse, also from Graaff-Reinet. "I'm just doing my part," he explained.
According to Zikhona Ruiters, Donor Relations Practitioner, extra safety measures were put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The next blood drive in Graaff-Reinet will be on 14 September.
