GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Sam Williams turned an incredible 102 years on Christmas day 2024, but looks decades younger.
Williams says that it wasn't easy to reach this ripe old age, but quotes Exodus 20:12: "Honour your father and mother so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you."
Williams, a former church leader, sportsman, football player, politician and now a great-great-grandfather, still enjoys life with his family.
He was blessed with eight children and strongly believes in the power of the Lord that keeps him alive.
This birthday celebration was not a big one and only close family gathered to wish him well.
Williams is proud of his 28 grand-children, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was born on 25 December 1922 in the Murraysburg district.
