GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The recruitment drive program of the Eastern Cape SAPS took place in Graaff-Reinet on 21 August, and it proved to be a success.
Graaff-Reinet was visited by the SAPS to inaugurate the Eastern Cape Recruitment Drive 2023 in the Sarah Baartman District.
This initiative aims to encourage individuals aged between 18 and 35 to submit applications to join SAPS.
Enforcing the law is the foundation of police activities, but SAPS offers a range of career options beyond preventing and combatting crime. It offers opportunities in financial services, logistics, legal services, strategic management and many other fields.
Unemployed youth aged 18 to 35 can consider SAPS as their employer of choice, in various conventional roles.
Two sessions were held during the day - the sessions were warmly received by the Graaff-Reinet station commander, Colonel André Arends.
The Eastern Cape Police Brass Band entertained the community with music at the Alex Laing Hall in Kroonvale.
During the event, the various career choices within SAPS were discussed. A significant number of youth turned up to listen to the presentations, and some had already completed their application forms by then. The closing date for Basic Police Training applications is the 31 August.
