GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — It’s Graaff-Reinet's calendar competition time again!
Nicola Beldon of Country Mouse Design has produced stunning calendars of Graaff-Reinet and surrounds for the last two years, which have proved to be a great hit with locals and tourists alike.
One outstanding feature of the calendar in previous years has been that all the photos that were used had been taken by local amateur photographers. Each year, Beldon has run a competition to find the photos that will be featured in this prestigious calendar, and the entries have come pouring in.
The 2018 calendar will continue to showcase the best of Graaff-Reinet, using photographs from amateur photographers. This week sees the launch of the competition to find photographs for next year’s calendar.
There are great cash prizes to be won, with R500 for the winning photo, a second prize of R250, and third prize R100. Even more valuable, is that all winners and semi-finalists will have their photos featured on the new calendar, some of which will no doubt end up all over the world!
The competition is open to all amateur photographers, regardless of age.
Unfortunately, for quality purposes, no printed photographs can be accepted.
Entries should be emailed to countrymousedesign@gmail.com, and image files must be between 1MB and 3MB (72 dpi to 300 dpi). Each entry should include the photographer’s full name, age, and contact details, as well as the location of the photograph. So as not to swamp the judges and to give everyone a chance, each entrant is limited to a maximum of five photos.
The competition runs until September 30, which gives plenty of time for aspiring photographers to get snapping!
If any companies or accommodation providers would like to sponsor the calendar, have their logo on the calendar or sell the calendars, they should contact Beldon at the same address, or call at Country Mouse Design and Décor in Church Street.
