GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The One's Fate Foundation managed to collect 800 packets of sanitary towels during the festive season.
Chairman Mbulelo Tini, says it will be distributed to schools in different towns - Somerset East, Graaff-Reinet and Nieu-Bethesda - from 15 to 17 January.
Tini stresses that the foundation is committed to ensuring that schoolgirls, from primary to secondary levels, can participate in all school activities without having to worry about feminine hygiene. They started collecting donations in August last year, following their Women's Day programme at schools.
Tini says the response was positive and the foundation will now be able to donate 50 packets of sanitary towels to 16 schools.
"We want to thank everyone for making our projects possible. With the involvement of different stakeholders, we can continue restoring the dignity of our schoolgirls," says Tini.
"Helping our girls is our contribution to their education."
