KAROO NEWS - The future of the Karoo hangs in the balance as plans to mine rich uranium deposits through open cast mining inch forward.
Residents and organisations have been fighting it tooth and nail, saying it would pollute what little water this arid area has for farming and domestic use.
But a possible new plant species have also been discovered in the proposed mining area and may just halt the entire process.
Carte Blanche heads back to Beaufort West and Aberdeen for an update on the progress of the mining application.
