Update
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A body was recovered at Nqweba Dam on Tuesday 25 June after a specialised diving team of the Eastern Cape provincial emergency services from Gqeberha braved the icy water.
Graaff-Reinet police detectives were busy with a missing persons investigation after Vuyolwetu April from uMasizakhe was reported missing on 11 June. Detectives found his clothing and a cellphone on the dam wall after eyewitnesses reportedly saw April jump into the dam.
The dive team searched the bottom of the dam from Monday 24 June and recovered his body on Tuesday afternoon. The case is still under investigation.
Last year on 14 November, 35-year-old municipal worker Vukile Mayekiso also tragically drowned in the dam during an outing with his friends.
The family of the deceased requested their privacy during this time of mourning.

A police helicopter from the Eastern Cape provincial emergency services from Gqeberha also joined Graaff-Reinet Police in the search for Vuyolwetu April at the dam.
