GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Fortunately, there were very few serious crimes in Graaff-Reinet, Aberdeen and Nieu-Bethesda this past week.
The first case, of theft of a motor vehicle, refers to a vehicle that was stolen in Graaff-Reinet.
According to the complainant, he parked his vehicle at 20:30 on 20 June in Jansen Street. Next morning, at about 06:00, when he got ready to go to work, he found that his vehicle was gone.
There are no suspects so far, and the case is still under investigation.
There were two cases of theft out of a motor vehicle, both in Graaff-Reinet. In the first incident, the owner had parked his vehicle outside of Lucky's Supermarket in Springbok Street.
Sometime between 23:00 on 20 June and 10:00 the next morning, the suspect or suspects broke the vehicle's window and stole cash and a radio-player from the vehicle. This case is also under investigation.
The final incident took place between 22:00 on 18 June and 04:15 the next morning. According to the complainant, the suspect or suspects cut out the rubber seal of the canopy, and binoculars were stolen from the vehicle.
There are no witnesses or suspects at this stage.
