WILLOWMORE NEWS - Willowmore residents have been advised by the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality (DBNLM) that a threat to the water availability might lead to water interruptions in the area.

According to the DBNLM they have identified a decrease in the water supply from the fountain, which has been attributed to the contamination of the water source due to soil infiltration. 

This issue will raise concerns among the residents as it directly impact on their access to clean and reliable water.

Upon investigation by DBNLM, it has been determined that the filling of the fountain with soil has led to a substantial reduction in water supply to the area. 

The negative impact of this occurrence on the water supply is a cause for concern and must be promptly addressed to avoid further complications.

DBNLM says the decreased water supply from the fountain directly affects the daily lives of the residents who rely on this water source for various purposes such as drinking, cooking, and sanitation. 

Furthermore, any potential interruptions in the water supply could exacerbate the situation, leading to additional inconveniences to the community.

In order to mitigate the impact of the decreased water supply from the fountain, it is imperative that immediate actions are taken to address the issue.

The DBNLM says it is considering implementing a plan to remove the soil from the fountain and to develop strategies to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The municipality told the Graaff-Reinet Advertiser on Tuesday that they are taking action to rectify the situation.
