MIDDELBURG NEWS - The Middelburg SAPS arrested a suspect in the murder case of Viyokazi Alicia Bokveld (36).
The suspect, Phumla Booysen (42), was arrested on Monday 6 January.
Booysen stands trial for stabbing Bokveld with a sharp object in her lower abdomen in the early hours of 23 December. Booysen's brother tried in vain to save his sister's life, rushing her to the Wilhelm Stahl Hospital.
She was declared dead on arrival.
Police detectives and forensic experts spent several hours on the crime scene, searching for clues that could help with the arrest.
Booysen appeared in the Middelburg Magistrate's court on Tuesday, and will remain in custody until a next court appearance on Tuesday 14 January.
