GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Hanna Makoba of New Horizon Sewing Cooperative in Graaff-Reinet represented the town at the National Civil Society Organisation Conference in Gauteng on 8 and 9 May.
The conference centred around the role of the National Development Agency's (NDA) role in eradicating poverty, as well as the role that civil society organisations have as drivers of sustainable community development.
It was attended by more than 160 civil society organisations from all nine provinces, including 38 NDA-funded organisations for this two-day conference.
The conference was held at the ANEW Hotel and Convention Centre OR Tambo in Lakefield, Benoni.
The management of the National Development Agency, as well as the Minister of Social Development, Nokuzola Tolashe, were also present.Graaff-Reinet Advertiser will conduct an interview with Makoba upon her return to give our readers insight into the plans going forward.
