KAROO NEWS - Schools in the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality, Isibane Primary, Thembalesizwe Primary, Kroonvale Primary, Asherville Secondary and Nqeba Secondary returned with a variety of prizes from the Sarah Baartman District International Literacy competition in Paterson last Thursday.
Results:
- Linamandla Mhlongo of Thembalesizwe Primary came first in isiXhosa reading and received a stunning tablet.
- Sibongeleni Yalolo from Isibane Primary School who came third in English reading received a smart watch as prize.
- Tanichia Hoffman of Kroonvale Primary School received a school bag for her fourth place in Afrikaans reading.
- In Word Play Kwakhanya Johnson of Nqweba Secondary and Ruane Makoba of Asherville Secondary each received a tablet.
- For third place in poetry, Libone Thoni of Nqweba Secondary received a smart watch.
Librarians and officials Nosiphelo Jika Jika, Thembani Busakwe and Onke Mjongozi thanked the schools for their participation.
