Acting on a tip-off on 28 February 2023, Visible Policing members intercepted the accused's vehicle in the KwaNojoli CBD and pulled it off the road.
Upon searching the vehicle, police found 20g of methamphetamine (tik) valued at around R5 000 stashed in the fuel filler area of the vehicle.
The trial was concluded in just over 28 months.
The acting Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Brigadier Asogran Naidoo, welcomed the sentence, saying that it will be a deterrent to those who are involved in trafficking and dealing in illicit drugs and thanked the police members for their sterling work.
